The
6th event of the season could not have been any better
with temperatures at 72 degrees at 6:00 am and the temperature at
3:00 pm weight in at 92 degrees. Light winds out of the south
definitely helped to keep the day more enjoyable. Anglers reported
catching fish throughout the day in creeks, the main river, deep,
and shallow. There was no particular pattern they could nail down.
When you take a look at the results you can see how close it was,
only .09 oz. separated first and third places.
The
first place team of Randy Seabaugh and Henry Yamnitz reported
catching their fish in the back of creeks as far as they could go
by using jigs, worms and tubes. The team’s total weight of 10.79
pounds earned them checks totaling $1180.00 and plaques. The team
is sponsored by Fauts Bait Shop and Yamnitz Farms.
The
second place team of Steve Schinsa and
Roger
Beczkala from
Fenton
MO
reported they caught there fish in a four mile stretch of bank in
a creek with no specific pattern. They caught one fish on a crank
bait, one on a jig, and one on plastic worm. The team’s total
weight of 10.77 earned the team $720.00 for second place and
entering the option pot worth $160.00 the team took home checks
totaling $880.00 and plaques. The team is sponsored by Lowrance
Electronics, Skeeter Boats, Cope Marine, and Yamaha Outboards.
Third
place team of Tom Flanary from

and Philip Raines from

ended the day with a nice stringer of fish that weighed in at
10.77 pounds earning the team $440.00 and entering the option pot
worth $100.00 the team earned checks totaling $540.00.
Big
bass was caught by the team of Kevin Weber and Tom Griffan from
Cape Girardeau
reported catching their big fish that weighed in at 5.97 on a
Culprit Tequila Sunrise colored worm on the main river at 9:00 am.
This monster bass earned the team $230.00 and plaques. This was a
very nice fish for the river. The team is sponsored by Falsner
